The Blue Comet isn’t just an episode of The Sopranos. Launched on February 21, 1929, the Blue Comet was created to offer coach passengers premium equipment, accommodations, and service while maintaining standard coach fare pricing, between New York and Atlantic City, via the Central Railroad of New Jersey (CNJ) route running south from Red Bank.

Thousands of spectators gathered along the route to witness the debut of the new train, fueled in part by a savvy advertising campaign through radio and newspapers that generated significant public interest. The Blue Comet quickly gained worldwide fame, captivating audiences with its elegant design, impressive speed, and the formidable power of its towering locomotive.
