2023 Master Plan up for discussion
It has been a while, but here we are, on the cusp of a new form of government and a new era, that of the 2023 Master Plan. Whether “non-partisan” elections illuminate the machinations of governance or merely add a new level of obfuscation to the process remains to be seen. But the acceptance of the Master Plan is imminent, the public presentation and hearing being only a few days away – Monday, January 23, 2023; Planning Board Meeting.
The draft plan is just a click away and if you would prefer a hard copy then you can collect one in person from the Planning and Zoning Office.
As for the meeting itself, the format is now somewhat clearer after some initial uncertainty; a presentation from the master plan consultants, followed by comments from the public, although the borough web page says;
“If you would like to provide any comments, questions or suggestions prior to the meeting please reach out to Shawna Ebanks, Director of Community Development, via email sebanks@redbanknj.org or call 732-858-8352.”
… so it’s not clear if questions and comments have to be submitted before the meeting. Also, given the degree of interest, I wonder if the Council Chambers are large enough.
Anyway, over the next few days, I’ll be throwing out a few thoughts about some of the plan’s more immediate issues.
